Livestreaming an act of child sexual exploitation and abuse happening online, or one or more children being forced into engaging in sexual acts in front of a webcam.
Sexual exploitation takes many forms and is often complex and difficult to recognize. This concerns situations in which someone - usually under coercion, deception or through abuse of a vulnerable position - is used for sexual acts from which another person benefits financially or otherwise. CSAM
CSAM stands for Child Sexual Abuse Material. It describes imagery of a child who is engaged in or depicted as being engaged in sexual activity.
Sextortion
When an adult or peer has sexual photos or videos of a child and threatens to forward them, we speak of sextortion. The goal of sextortion can be to get children to send more photos, transfer money or do other things that the child does not want to do.
Deepfake
A deepfake is a collective name for software that can create very realistic fake photos or videos. They do this by, for example, putting someone's head on that of another. Or by making it look like someone is saying or doing something that they have not really said or done. Someone who makes such images can threaten to send them to other people. The goal of this is often to make the other person do things that they do not want to do.
Catfishing
Catfishing means that someone creates a fake profile on social media to pretend to be someone else. This is often with bad intentions, for example to entice others to do things or to meet up.
Grooming
Grooming is a situation in which an adult tries to gain a child's trust online with the goal of meeting online or in person for sexual acts.
